For Aaron Olson this is Disgusting Nearly everyone on Facebook has been tagged with an embarrasing photo, but most people don't sue the person who tagged them. In these mildly annoying situations, most people would untag the photos and then forget that they existed. But not everyone. A Minnesota man named Aaron Olson could not handle the fact that his uncle posted photos from his childhood in front of the Christmas tree, along with some snarky captions. So he sued his uncle for harassment. A Minnesota district court tossed his case, and earlier this week the Court of Appeals of Minnesota denied Olson’s pro se complaint. Judge Natalie E. Hudson wrote a surprisingly zen unpublished opinion, considering how silly the lawsuit (and Olson’s in-court behavior).Sadly for Olson, he not only lost the case but his appeal to a higher court was also denied. Olson now alleges that part of the reason his case was denied was because he was representing himself and the court was biased against his socioeconomic status and religion. Hudson responded that "the district court is afforded broad discretion in controlling the courtroom as part of its duty to proceed efficiently." She also added that the court "assisted appellant multiple times" regarding different court procedures including how to approach a witness, enter an exhibit into evidence, and how to question a witness. As far as Olson's relationship with his uncle, the two men are not currently Facebook "friends." |
I can't help but laugh about it. I had my share of embarrassing moments and the least that I could do is to ask the person to delete the photo. Hehehe!

I should sue pala dapat pag may nag tag sa akin ng embarrassing photos ko instead of asking them to just delete it. Ha ha ha! Buti na dismiss yun kaso. Aba if nag prosper yan madami susunod sa yapak niya!
Kaya ayoko nagpapapicture eh. Anyway, the poor guy had the right naman to file charges, yun lang he should have gotten a lawyer instead of represent himself, baka kahit pano me nangyari.
I don't mind that picture. And babaw naman ng taong yan. Walang sense of humour.
I believe in the rule of law. I believe his complaint is not sufficient. From the point of view of a political scientist his complaint has no probable cause basing on the photo being showed.
I believe his complaint is not just about the photo. The complainant might have grudges over his uncle in the past. I assume :)
ano ba yan.. minsan talaga ang tao napaka babaw.. why waste time filing a case e you can just untag yourself from the photo or make fun of the photo yourself.. hehe. tsk tsk waste of time nya pa tuloy more embarrassment!
Nakakatawa na man and at the same time parang it feels a bit mababaw talaga. Ma fix na man siguro kung pag uusapan, di na kelangan mag file ng case, aksaya ng time lang. Pero cute ha! hahahaha
all i could say is HAHAHAHHAHA but ugghh
It's high time that countries should draft their "online constiturion or laws" now to give legal solution to these kinds of cases. I think anyone has the right to file>
may ganun?hahahah
This is so ridiculous. They sue for ALL kinds of reasons (valid or silly).
That's really embarrassing but I think they shouldn't have filed a case and instead un-tag it. ^_^
